SHOW RULES

1.**GREEN HORSES ONLY** Horses showing under saddle must be in their 1-2 year being under saddle or showing. Exceptions are the OTTB division and the 5 & Over Division for late started horses or restarted rescues, must be in their 1st year of training. Aging will go by their actual age not by Jan 1st.


2. Negative Coggins (within 1 yr), and current vaccinations required (within 6 months). There will be young horses as well as pregnant mares on the property and we must protect them.


3. A copy of your horses papers are needed to show age, breeding, and to qualify for any series end Breed awards.


4. **Judging is on quality of movement, Conformation, and type, as compared to the horses

intended discipline. Young horse mistakes or behavior may not be penalized.


 5. Decisions of the judge and management are final


6. Classes may be divided, combined, canceled, or re-ordered if conditions warrant. Must have at least 3 horses to fill a class or will be combined.


7. Points are awarded 7-5-4-3-2-1


 8. This is not a venue for children. Any child under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Horses, especially young, can be very unpredictable. Stallions will also likely be present at these shows.


9. NO unruly horses, you could be asked to leave if their behavior is endangering horses or people on the grounds. Stallions must be handled by capable adults with either a chain shank or bridle at all times.


 10. ASTM/SEI certified helmets with harness and boots with a heel must be worn by all riders when mounted. Helmets are STRONGLY suggested for in hand classes but not mandatory.


11. Although Formal Attire is not mandatory, it's suggested. Semi formal, Polo shirts/boots & breeches are fine. Remember there will be a photographer on site and you want to look your best especially if your horse is for sale! There is also a "BEST TURNOUT" award for each show!


 12. No martingales permitted in under saddle classes. No boots or polos unless schooling.


 13.  NO pets please.


 14. Fence heights are approximate.


 15. We will not rush you if you are having an issue, but please try to be prompt to the ring for your classes.


16. Schooling will be permitted for in hand horses from 7 a.m. until start of the show. No riding or lunging in AM while the young horses are at or in the ring. All Under Saddle or lunging must be done after the in hand classes are completed or during the lunch break, starting no sooner than 12pm.


17. Farm owners and the Silver Fern Farm Young Horse Series, are not responsible for any damage, injury, or loss to persons, animals or property of any exhibitor or spectator on or off the show grounds.


18. You may cross enter divisions so long as the horse qualifies based on age and year of training.


***We have an on site Farrier as well in case of any emergencies and a Vet on call very close to the farm.
